A high-level delegation from the Omani company Abraj Energy Services, led by its CEO, Saif Al Hamhami, was received on Tuesday in Algiers by Rachid Hachichi, CEO of the Sonatrach group. This visit is part of the memorandum of understanding signed on April 24, 2024, in the Sultanate of Oman between the two companies, aiming to strengthen their cooperation in the energy sector.
The meeting, held at Sonatrach’s General Directorate headquarters, allowed for the definition of the implementation modalities of this strategic partnership. In the presence of senior executives from both companies, a joint commission was formed to oversee the achievement of the protocol’s objectives. This commission will examine various areas of cooperation, including well services and drilling, as well as specialized training.
During their stay in Algeria, the Omani delegation will visit several Sonatrach production facilities and subsidiaries in Hassi Messaoud. Among the companies visited are the National Well Services Company (ENSP), the National Well Works Company (ENTP), the National Drilling Company (ENAFOR), the National Geophysics Company (ENAGEO), and Drilling Fluids Services to Wells (DFSP).
Regarding training, the commission will visit the Algerian Petroleum Institute (IAP) and the Boumerdès Laboratories Department, as well as the Sonatrach Management Academy (SMA) in Oran. These visits will help define the training needs and programs for the executives of both companies.
The working visit, which will take place from July 7 to 12, will conclude with a workshop bringing together members of the joint commission. This workshop will be an opportunity to exchange views and discuss the roadmap for implementing the agreed areas of cooperation.
This initiative marks an important step in strengthening the relations between Abraj Energy Services and Sonatrach, paving the way for new opportunities for collaboration and development in the energy sector. R.E
