The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, declared on Thursday that « the bloodshed in Gaza must stop now, » reiterating her commitment to a two-state solution.
« The people of Gaza can no longer bear this, and humanity can no longer bear this, » she said at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France. « We need an immediate and sustainable ceasefire (…), and we must prepare for the aftermath, » she added.
