During his inauguration on September 17, 2024, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, re-elected with 84.30% of the vote, presented a series of ambitious commitments for Algeria. The key points of his program for the next five years focus on economic, industrial, and agricultural development, with the goal of achieving self-sufficiency in durum wheat by 2025 and in barley and maize by 2026. President Tebboune also pledged to boost the industrial sector, aiming to increase the country’s GDP contribution to 12%. Among the commitments for his second term, the Head of State promised massive investments, targeting 20,000 investment projects by 2029.<\/p>\n
Regarding infrastructure and resources, the President highlighted the importance of water management and announced the launch of major interconnection dams in 2025, as well as full Algerian management of seawater desalination. Concerning housing, Tebboune promised the construction of two million housing units of all types.
