In an editorial titled « Algeria’s African Depth: A Strategic Choice » the official publication of the Algerian army emphasizes Algeria’s role as a key player in achieving integration and stability across Africa. The country places immense importance on uniting the continent, a commitment directly stemming from its African roots and its status as a regional power that tirelessly works toward realizing this continental aspiration.

According to *El Djeïch*, Algeria draws on its unwavering principles and the values of its Revolution to establish relations of good neighborliness and fruitful cooperation with its African partners. The objective is clear: to enable Africa to fully exercise its sovereignty over its territories and resources while preserving its decision-making independence. This approach specifically aims to liberate the continent once and for all from the remnants of colonialism, identified as the primary source of its current challenges.

The recent recognition by the UN Security Council of Algeria’s leadership in counterterrorism efforts further strengthens this position. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, now Africa’s spokesperson on terrorism-related issues, embodies this new continental responsibility. During the 11th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, held in Oran in December 2024, the Algerian president reaffirmed his country’s commitment to being *“a unifier that brings together rather than divides.”*

Amid the multiple crises threatening the continent’s stability, *El Djeïch* highlights Algeria’s firm stance on the principle of African solutions to African problems, rejecting any form of foreign interference. This position is reflected in the active engagement of the Algerian People’s National Army in continental security cooperation mechanisms. Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff, asserts that despite destabilization attempts, Algeria remains an essential player in Africa’s strategic equation.

This commitment is also evident in Algeria’s role within the United Nations Security Council, where, as a non-permanent member, it passionately advocates for the continent’s interests and gives a voice to peoples under occupation. *El Djeïch* concludes by emphasizing that Algeria’s dedication to Africa aligns with a comprehensive vision that integrates security, stability, and development—essential conditions for the emergence of a united and prosperous Africa.

Algeria is reaffirming its mission to unify African ranks, as revealed in the latest February issue of *El Djeïch* magazine.
