The Malaysian Group « Lion », represented by its CEO Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama William Chang, recently met with two Algerian ministers to discuss potential investments in the country. During the meeting with the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, the discussions focused on future industrial projects in Algeria, including the exploitation of mineral resources and the manufacture of photovoltaic panels. Cooperation in the processing industry was also explored. Emphasis was placed on training, technology transfer, and job creation.
In turn, the Minister of Finance, Laaziz Faid, during his meeting with the CEO of the Malaysian Group « Lion », examined investment opportunities, particularly in the exploitation and production of aluminum and steel, as well as cooperation in renewable energy and tourism. Faid presented to his guest the government measures to encourage investment and facilitate entrepreneurship. For its part, the « Lion » Group expressed confidence in the investment conditions in Algeria, praising the reforms undertaken to improve the business ecosystem.
Both parties committed to working together to implement growth and economic development projects in a mutually beneficial approach. These meetings highlight the growing interest of foreign investors in Algeria and the Algerian government’s desire to diversify its economy by attracting international partners in strategic sectors.
